Oh Hay.

I’m Meg

I am your very own feral, bookish strength and running coach, here to get you training to CREATE PROBLEMS.

In the 10 years I’ve worked in the fitness industry, I have helped countless people build their functional and physical strength, and cardiovascular endurance (if that’s your thing!) using tried and true, science-backed programming methods.

I am not here to tell you what your version of ‘strong’ SHOULD be. I am not here to tell you what your body should or should not look like. I am not here to shame you in any way.

I AM here to help you reach and surpass your fitness (and reading huehehe) goals as your body-inclusive lifting bestie. No diet culture, no gimmicks, just getting Strong AF while trading book recs.

My Story

(TW-Eating Disorder+Sexual Assault)

I fell in love with reading at a VERY young age. Books, combined with my penchant for escapism, also got me into Fantasy writing (because why make life EASIER!?)

My relationship with exercise is a lot more complicated. I grew up in the ‘heroin chic’ age that society unfortunately returns to time and time again, when all discourse surrounding exercise was that its goal is to make us smaller. So, I took that to heart, developed a life-threatening eating and exercise disorder that landed me in the hospital in my teens, and spend a good part of my young adult life bouncing from doctor to doctor while trying to take up as little space as possible.

But then I was sexually assaulted in my early 20s and I dissociated. For months, I walked around in a fog, feeling numb and small and in complete shock.

One day, a friend at the time insisted I come with them to a Muay Thai class (my first though was ‘okay well I guess more calories burned.’) I went to the class, sweat my butt off, punched a lot of sh*t, and…woke up.

That was a lightbulb moment for me. I realized that the popular discourse around exercise was BS. It isn’t a tool for punishing ourselves for eating, or whatever diet culture wants us to believe. It is a tool for mental health. For empowerment. For self discovery. For being able to lift enough to throw a grown man into the sun, if you want to!

I started working in this industry to empower all the main characters in the world who have been through some sh*t to f*ck sh*t up and embark on the part of their hero’s (or villain’s - I don’t judge) journey that is the triumphant return.

So let’s do this.
